OUR STORY
It all started with sheep. That's right - Icelandic sheep.
In 2007 I looked down at two starving, sick and dying baby sheep with big brown eyes looking up at me, and I vowed I would do all I could to save them.
They had been flown into my farm located in Redding, CT from Washington State. I soon called "Willie" and "Rosie" my little "Sweet Peas" and it was then the name Sweet Pea Farm was born. The following year they blessed me with twins. I named the boys "Nicholas" and "Chile' Pepper".
Sweet Pea Farm became an animal sanctuary for many animals that had been abandoned or rescued, allowing them to live out their lives in peace on the farm.
In December 18, 2007, Sweet Pea Farm suffered a terrible fire in our barn. All was lost, but happily none of the animals were hurt. It was quite a setback, but with 3 years of hard work, help from friends, lots of personal money and physical labor, a new barn was built in the old barn's place - and the new barn was better than the old barn ever was!
In 2026 the farm was moved to Banner Elk, NC and is continuing to evolve by adding honeybees and honey products, hand crafted chocolates, GF baked goods, gourmet popcorn, and lectures and tours.
We participate in festivals and fairs with concession foods, and local Farmer's Markets.
We proudly sell all our products locally to numerous grocery markets, farm stores, health food stores, coffee shops and gourmet food boutiques. You can also find some of our products on our Etsy Shop for convenient online sales and shipping.
